hmm that sounds like a device problem. Not heard of anyone else having that issue. You may want to try a restore from iTunes to reapply the iOS and see if that solves it. If that doesnt I would try a DFU restore (you can google for the full process) but that is a low level full firmware reapply. That solves a lot of weir issues typically. Make sure you get a full backup before you do that process.

ACtually ive heard some peopel complaining like mine, we have the same issue right after updating ios, and im pretty sure that the ios 6.1 caused this problems, before i update my ios my phone is perfectly fine, its charging no problem at all, but now need to use or drain all my remainin battery to charge my phone, its ok with me, but what if i have to travel? And i need to add a little battery to use in while im on a trip? Do i have to drain my battery and and recharge to 100% ? So disappointed

Well if you are already having issue you have nothing to loose by updating to the new iOS version. It would be worth doing in my opinion. For the record I installed 6.1.2 on a 4s yesterday and all is well. Battery is fine and no issues that I can see as of yet.

I am going to make it as brief as possible my 1 month experience with my brand new Iphone 5
-Januarry 11 - I purchase the Iphone 5
-First day the phone battery lasted on stand by for more than 24 hours
-Second day, I upgraded the software for IOS 6.1
-Battery issies begun. Battery on stand by last 4 - 6 hours
-I took the Iphone to Apple Store, they say everything is OK, that I had too many apps or that I should have make the restoration process from "New Iphone" instead backing up.
-I do the New Iphone thing and the battery now lasts more than 24 hours on Stand By
-Then Comes 6.1.1
-Battery drain problems are back
-Restoring the Iphone as NEW does not works this time. I have to charge 3 times a day my Iphone 5
-Yesterday 6.1.2 addressing to fix this bug
-I do the upgrade. Worst than before, battery drains 10% in 10 Minutes in Stand by!!
-I cant make the battery to fully charge to 100%, no matter how long I plug it, even overnight, after 8 hours, I was expecting a 100% charge, but it was at 97%!!!! With all apps closed, WIFI and Bluetooth OFF
-I do the whole restoring process from NEW again. - NOTHING!! - It has been only 3 hours since i Umppluged it and now I have 33% and thats because I charge it on my car on my way to Work, about 30 minutes.
-6.1.2 its even worst that 6.1.1
WTFF!!!!!!! IS APPLE DOOMED?

I think you should be fine, Again, if your device is sorta hosed up now I wouldn't think it would be any worse. Still today I am fine on 6.1.2. Everything seems normal. So I would say go for it but ultimately its your call

Im not experiencing the quick battery drain or what my only problem in ios6.1 is it wont charge, sometimes when im lucky it charges! That my only problem, it lasts long, my prob is im afraid that if i upgrade my ios instead of fix the charging issue, i might get the battery drain issue, my phone is charging but only when the battery is below 3% and sometimes like i said earlier when im lucky it will charge whatver my battery percentage is

You can attempt a hardware reset on the device by holding the home key and sleep/wake button to address the non-charging issue. Also try another cable or the same cable with another known good working device.
If you can narrow it down to either the cable or the phone itself it could be up for replacement.

Good point or maybe the adaptor itself. It sounds more like a Phone issue to me since it does charge when its below 3% but it could be anything. Anyway not sure what else to recommend if unwilling to restore the device to eliminate possible software corruption. But to sum up this thread, there is no "the charging issue" with the past iOS so this is a one off issue not an iOS bug.

I went to apple store yesterday and try some cable there if my phone will charge and yes it did charge, i asked the lady and i told her that my phone doesnt charge, she said maybe my usb cable is damaged
And test all the cable there and it worked, so i bought the usb and adapter.. And it charged as it normally do!
Hmmm its just wierd that right after i update my ios i didnt charge.. Maybe a coinsidence.. Anyway thx to all of you! For your advice! It did help a lot!! Thank you!! -PROBLEM SOLVED!
