Am I the only one to experience a noticeable drop in battery time? I have 6.1 and don't use any Exchange account.

    While using 3G or Wi-Fi?

I'm noticing while using 3G, but its possible that while using Wi-fi as well. I believe the iOS 6.1 is not reliable in many ways. Exchange bug, unlock screen bug, 3G bug, Wi-fi bug (sometimes I lose my IP and so as my connection)... I really hope that Apple is working right now to get all of this fixed. Tell me your Usage Times, so I can compare to mine.

With a hour of normal usage, I go from 100% to 80%.

I was having a similar problem and I had to delete my iCloud account, reboot, and re-add it again. But I cannot guarantee that it will fix your problem. And actually I did several restores including a DFU restore. 20% is a lot if you only (for example) browsing and on facebook. But if your watching videos from youtube that can be normal. Close all of your apps and monitor the usage from then. I've been on this foruns for a week and no-one seems to have a clear anwser for all the iOS 6.1 problems.

    My battery status right now:

    18%

    Usage: 9h22m

    Stand-By: 17h30m

It's not great but I believe it's normal right? I've seen a couple of videos on the web using 3G, email and some sites and I'm listening to music all the time, and 13h of those 17 hours I only had 3G (supposely consumes more battery than wi-fi)

    Hello,

I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch/Ipad/Iphone/Ipod Classic, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.

    Quoting Sbailey4:

    1. Do the IOS 6.0.1 update (or any other update)
    2. Reset All Settings: SETTINGS>GENERAL>RESET>RESET ALL SETTINGS
    3. Use it until it dies (automatically shuts off)
    4. Plug into Charge
    5. Leave it 1.5 hours or longer after it reaches 100% --> Undisturbed (preferably overnight)
    6. Give it a few days to Calibrate

This has helped me on my Ipod Touch 4th generation, running IOS 6.0.1

    Hope that helps!

If none of the above solutions work, can you please respond back ASAP as I will try to find another solution to your problem (This might even help others with the same problem!)

    Cheers!

I am having an issue with my iPad 3, in that it now says, with all of my chargers, "Not Charging". I have finally gotten fed up, but my brother in law heard about some reports of battery issues. I am surprised that I would be having these issues, because I bought 3 new cables recently, and all of them have this issue.

I have gingerly plugged it into my 10W adapter, and it seems to be consistently charging for now, unlike before, where it would charge, and then as soon as it would power down, upon pressing the home button to reactivate it, it would say "Not Charging."

Would this be related to the issue some of you are having, or might it be the cable or, God forbid, the iPad itself? Is there any test that I can do myself to ascertain what is the source of the problem?

I am using iOS6.1 on an iPad 3.

    ADDENDUM:

I have an iPhone 5 as well, and it seems to be very stable with battery life. I haven't had the issues that some people in this thread have had. I do hope this is the issue for me with the iPad, as I would reinstall if necessary.

I've got an iPhone 4 and the battery is lasting about half as long as before the 6.1 update.

I hope Apple fixes this soon...

I wonder how easy/difficult it is to downgrade to the previous version?

Yes I think it's absolutely normal. I rebooted my iPad 4g, and currently my usage is this:

    23% battery

    11h, 26m usage

    3d, 15h standby

Sounds OK, isn't it? Now I wonder is some app was consuming battery, because I didn't have any Exchange account.

    Krossen,

After such an update you need to go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings.

Don't worry you will not lose any of your data or media ( a box appears on the screen when you ask phone to do this reset ).

1- After the reset you need to re-do the settings ( notifications, location services, Bluetooth, ......etc ) up to your own preference.

2- Let the battery discharge completely - till phone shuts down - then fully charge ( personally, i leave phone charging for at least 2 hours uninterrupted ).

It worked for me and for many others in this thread and other similar discussion threads.

I hope I've been of any help .....

    Kind regards.

6.1.2, i5-version, is DEFINITELY an improvement. Upgraded last night and left the phone unplugged overnight since it was charged up anyway. Now, 9 hours later, I have 98% on the fuel gauge, even though I've BT, Wi-Fi, Cell Data all up, have used it as a personal hotspot on two occasions (~ 10 min each, local bozos won't let Mail contact Apple's SMTP servers... ), checked my bank account, did Weather, sent two SMS messages and took a short (< 1 min) call.

Of course, I don't have, never had and hope to never deal with any Exchange crap on my computer stuff.

    THE SOLUTION:

Go to -> Settings -> General -> Reset -> RESET ALL SETTINGS - and confirm the changes

This will delete ALL previous settings (WON'T DELETE DATA), and after that you'll have to spend 10 minutes to adjust the new settings you want.

But that is a solution that adjusts the phone to the new iOS version, so it doesn't drain that much battery. Remember that and if you have any further problems with a next version - do the same again!!!

After doing this I had my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.2):

    26 minutes usage

    40 minutes standby

and only 2% battery loss, which I think is a normal level of loss!
