iCal problem - refuses to allow change-meeting request

A change-time-of-meeting request comes through in Apple Mail - from an important client, as it happens (aren't they all) - I cllick on the Mail Attachment.ics icon, whichtakes me to iCal.

 

I click on the download icon, top left of the toolbar in iCal.

 

Whereupon the appointment appears momentarily in the right place in iCal, before it disappears and then the following message appears:

 

 

Access to “Chris Gibbons” in “Work” in account “iCloud” is not permitted.

 

 

The server responded:

“403”

to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.

 

 

Chris Gibbons is me - Work is my main calendar - and iCloud is...well, you know.

 

Any ideas what might be causing this or how to get around it?

 

The sender of the message is using an enterprise-sized Windows OS - no idea which one.

 

Any suggestions gratefully received.
