Basically I have a 21.5-inch, Late 2009 iMac with a 500GB hard drive. Specs:

Over time it became a pain in the butt having to constantly use externals to store information so I wouldn't fill the computer up, since I also use bootcamp functionalities it gets even worse. So, to resume it all, I was wondering if I could take a hard drive from one of my externals and plug it in my mac?

I opened both the external drive case and the iMac and they fit physically, I'm just not enough of an expert to know if it will work in a pratical way.

External HD specs:

Seagate                                                  Barracuda LP

                                                              1TB

S/N: 5VX1LB6F

ST31000520AS                                        (Serial ATA icon here)

P/N: 9TN154-510

Firmware: CC32                                        +5V 0.295 A

Date Code: 11413     Site Code: WU            +12V 0.219 A

Thanks alot!
