I´m so tired of trying to get my iphone to work, my wifi and bluethooth ar not working (wifi button on grey and bluethooth not appearing at all) and I called apple and told me is my device, they are not accepting that all around the world people is having this issue. Carriers do not get any support they just want to charge for a new iphone to replace the other one that is not working ... not happy at all!!! they release the 6.1.2 version and is not fixing this error ... no hope for now
My iPhone 5 and iPad3 were working fine on iOS6.1. When I upgraded to 6.1.2 I started to face the same issues that I faced with iOS 6.0. Wifi issues again.
I am curremtly in the airport, my BB connected to the wifi network without a problem but iPhone 5 is just actin funny again and didn't connect to the wifi.
I will restore my phone back to 6.1 when I go back home. Seems that apple doesn't do a good job to test the new firmware before releasing it to the market. We miss you Steve Job!

I have the iPad 2 64g+3g and since I started doing the new updates I started having problems with the wifi network, bought another router tp link and the problem continues with the iphone 4 is good wifi 10 meters all the bars, and with the iPad 2 2 meters 1-2 bars already did all possible configurations.
I hope they can resolve it with iOS5 never had problems with wifi.
Ok I hope have figured this out ... Sort off. My iPhone 3GS now can connect to all my 4 APs. The main router is a Asus RT66U and the rest are apple airport express and extremes. iPhone 5s connect with no issue . The 3GS for some reason to fix on a router.. Manually set your DHCP. The static IP will sort out your problems.
Next do a network reset (make sure you know your wifi passwords and settings ). This allowed me to see some public free wifi routers that I could not be seen initially.
This is an iOS 6 issue we should have to be doing such networking gymnastics.
I have solved this problem similarly to travart, but only needed to change the DNS to 220.127.116.11 (one of Google's public DNS servers). This is slightly less work than manually entering everything, and also allows for DCHP lease renewals without re-entering anything. Some public systems like to dump your lease after relatively short time periods.
I have no explanation as to why this works for me.
I have only had connection problems with a few brands of router (e.g. Thomson, NetGear) and it has been in situations when I am not in control of the router.
These sorts of issues have long been a problem with various versions of iOS. And I do think it is Apple's responsibility to do a better job with its communications engineering. Consumers expect to have their devices work. There are basically a finite number of brands of routers and many are using similar protocols. Apple may prefer if the world switched to its protocols, but more of us will dump Apple devices if they don't get their act together on something so basic to the function of every device they sell.
Anyone who has searched for solutions to this problem will recognize that Apple's silence on it speaks volumes. It is not like it is new.
Just a brief request from a follower of this thread (not in reponse to Mark T's post, but it was the only way I could find how to post a vanilla comment) ...
Several mention that they have downloaded new iOS6.n updates and that this has or has not resolved their problem.
That's fine, but there seem to be several iterations of iOS6.n depending upon the actual device. For example, mention is made by jkeladay of iOS6.1.2 whilst mentioning his/her iPad - I have an iPad 3 and can find no iOS6.1.2 update (General shows my version to be iOS6.1 10B141) so am assuming that it applies to other devices only.
When mentioning updates and versions, please can you all mention just which device(s) you are talking about to help those of us less schooled in the intracacies of mobile devices and phones?
It would be a real help and, in my case at least, prevent me having to go off in search of a phanotm update for my iPad 3!

Now that is odd, Patsy, as I have a 64GB iPad 3 and I have seen no iOS.6.1.2 upgrade, either via The App Store or iTunes.
Why can I not see what the rest/many of you appear to see? Is it released in different countries at different times? That would seem a tad odd, but I can't think of any other reason.
I have iPad 3, iPad Mini, and iPhone 5 all up graded to iOS 6.1.2. I live in Charlottesville Va USA I up graded on Tuesday 19th Have you tried on your iPad go to settings, go to General, go to software update click on software update and see what it tell you. It should be there for you to up date. Let me know what you find out.
It may have been a result of me being an idiot and/or forgetting (it's an age related thing!) that iOS updates come via iTunes and not the App Store. Certainly the App Store never notified me of this update.
If the release of 6.1.2 was only last Tuesday, then my version of iTunes wouldn't yet have checked as it only does so every seven days and I was still in "mid-cycle". That doesn't explain why it never notified me of what I presume was a previous update of 6.1.1 though, as I back up to my iMac and sync via iTunes every day.
I'd updated via the iTunes route before I'd followed your advice of going to Settings so cannot confirm what that showed before I had updated.
I would have hoped, and indeed expected, that we would be notified of iOS updates as speedily and as easily as we are of apps in general and not that we can only find them either weekly or by specifically looking for them in Settings all the time.
Of course, I may be totally misunderstanding everything about how iOS updates actually work - and that's an age related thing as well!
Back to the theme of this thread: prior to this latest iOS update I was only having trouble still with one public network - Manchester (UK) Airport's free Spectrum network. After I referred my problem to them they sent an engineer to my location in the Airport and thouroughly checked their system (now there's excellent customer service - only one complaint and they send an engineer from their head office to check it out, brilliant and such a refreshing change from Apple's unhelpful and somewhat offensive silence) and could find no fault with it so the problem could be directly linked to the iOS6.0 update which I had then just done.
I shan't be at the airport again until Thursday when I shall be able to check whether this latest 6.1.2 iteration has fixed that problem or not. I shall report back later this week after I have tried there again..
