I will give it a whirl after work.  Thank you!   Also, wondeirng if any of you experienced issues with pairing a 2nd phone.  My BF is trying to pair his iphone5 on my car and it is recognizing his phone and then we get to the last step ... but he never gets the pop up screen on his phone to enter the 4 digit code.  It just keeps spinning then the pairing process times out.

He has the same phone as me running the same operating system.  strange.

    Any suggestions?

Squire0624.......I have a 2013 Honda CRV and an Apple Iphone5.  Once I upgraded all I had to do was to set my Iphone in my vehicle and it worked like it was supposed to.  I did not have to set to headset, I left my iphone on DEFAULT.

Make sure you plug your Iphone5 in to a power source, it takes a few minutes to upgrade.

I agree. I also have my incoming calls set to default.  I think the headset setting was being used as a workaround by some people before the software update.

It worked when I upgraded to os 6.1.2, without having to change any settings!  Thank you all!

Had the same issue. This website has the answer beautifully illustrated, if you need it.

    http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/05/05/how-to-answer-the-iphone-in-speakerphone -all-the-time/

    Path to repair issue:

    Settings

    General

    Accessibility

    Incoming Calls

Change from "Speaker" (which is what is causing the problem) to "Default"

In the future, when you want to use "Speaker" on a particular call, just use the button on the call to make it go to speaker phone.

I know. I thought "Accessibility" was a section for those with disabilities. I have no clue how my phone got reset that way.

Guess you have to choose whether you want it to work through Bluetooth or want it to mostly answer as a speaker phone. You can't have it both ways, I guess.

I drive a 2012 Honda CR-V w Navi. My phone is an iPhone 5 w iOS 7.0. Earlier it was on iOS 6.1.x. I never had any problems with receiving or making phone calls. But my Handsfree link is set to "Auto Answer" all incoming calls. Never used the button on the steering wheel to answer or hang up. I do have problems routing the phone audio to car audio system when using maps (Apple or Google maps, same behavior). I can't hear any voice guidance from the phone or from the car audio system, unless I disable the blue tooth connection between phone and HandsFree Link. Once the pairing is broken, I can hear voice guidance from phone, but then, my phone is not connected for phone calls either.

Yesterday I had similar problem with iPhone 5 iOS 7 and 2010 Toyota Prius nab system. When I was connected through Bluetooth the nag voice did not work. I also have a 2012 honda CRV but so far I have not had any issues with iOS 7 and any connectivity issues

You need to go to the Settings option on the phone -  then General - then Accessibility - Incoming call - Change from Default to Speaker or Headset. Then all is good

Guess you have probably found out that you can't pair TWO iPhones through the bluetooth system in a single car at the same time. The car can't tell who is driving and needs the bluetooth enabled.

Eventually, the manufacturers will realize that some cars have two or more drivers, and will create a way to allow us to tell the car who is driving and needs the Bluetooth enabled for their own device.

I would like to be able to just hold down a button and tell it not to use the default - mine - and to use the other driver's iPhone bluetooth.

I have a portable handsfree unit (Blueant Supertooth 3) which is several years old now but remembers the pairings for up to eight handsets. It can't pair to two at the same time but it is easy to switch using the bluetooth menu on the phone. Connecting a handset automatically disconnects the previous phone.
