Yes. I have literally deleted EVERYTHING from my computer, except for the applications. I have deleted all my pictures, documents, and music. I have nothing left and nothing in the trash. I'm wondering if I just need to reinstall everything? It says I have used over 500 GB. There's just really no memory being used on my computer at all. It makes no sense.

My recommendation would be to get two external HD's, one to use for backing up to Time Machine. Then once you have backed up then using the second EHD move your large libraries (typically photographs, music & movies) to the second EHD. Apple explains how to do this in:
Once you have don this I would use your Leopard DVD and erase and re-install and then restore from the TIme Machine backup. It's a lot of work but you're floundering now and not getting anywhere.
