Is there a way of connecting a USB cable to my new iPad? I have a device that I want to connect to it but it is only supplied with a USB cable.

iPad, iOS 6.0.1

I don't find this question too clear, but I'll try to answer anyway.

" ... my new iPad?"  I wonder if that means the latest model iPad, commonly called the iPad 4.  If so, it has a lightning port on the bottom.

" ... but it is only supplied with a USB cable."  What does "it" refer to ... is it the device you're trying to connect to, or is it the iPad?

Anyway, your iPad comes with a cable that goes from its bottom port (presumably the lightning port, but maybe a 30 pin port if you're really talking about an older model) to USB.

So the bottom line is you have a cable with your iPad that connects to USB.  The cable came with your iPad.

Yes. Search "usb lightning adapter" on Amazon.

Unless there is an app for the iPad that supports your Garmin device connecting the Garmin device to the iPad will not allow anything. The iPod does not use the USB Camera Connection Kit items as a general USB port like on a computer.

Maybe I misunderstood you Rjog. I thought you simply wanted to share the cable for charging. lllaass is right, the iPad Camera Connection Kit does not directly support connecting anything other than a camera, memory cards and reportedly some USB keyboards and audio devices. Connecting our Garmin device will not work unless there is a specific app that claims to do so.

In any case,, if you did a search as I suggested, you would have found this cable on
