pdf is - imho! - meant for printable content.
(although, Adobe decided, it allows to content 'moving images' too)
do we speak of a 'file' containing moving images? …
or did you meant psd, ppt, tnt ... no!

As Karsten writes (he's 100%)
If no moving pages - there is a function to export in PowerPoint as a SlideShow and may be You can import this into iMovie.
To me the result is BAD to Worse
I do - if I must
• Play the PPT presentation
• Save each frame - as a screen-dump (Shift+cmd+3)
• I use GraphicConverter™ - to convert these to .jpg and
• Import these into my movie project
Result - fairly OK - doubt if anyone notice
( Monitor set to 1440 X 900 - when playing the PPT file - to get best possibly .jpgs )
If moving components - one has to get them as small movies and most probably one needs FinalCut to get them in right place and speed.
BUT - This is a tedious job ! - A smart automatic function with Quality preserving function could be of great value.
