I trust I am on the right forum to pose this question, having inadverently been on the Snow Leopard forum.  So I will begin anew.  On my new MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.2 Mountain Lion, I have been unsuccessful installing any printers.  The printer list is always empty.

Rei-installing Lion, did not help. Reinstalling the lastest printer drivers did nothing either, nor did installing Gutenberg...the printer list is blank, and endless rebooting after trying any tweak has been fruitless.

Next, I started the Disk Utility and ran "Repair Disk Permissions", and the printers definitions which had permission of "0" were changed to "80" (if I remember correctly). Repair Disk is grayed out, probably because I have a SSD. But I did run Verify Disk again and and Verify Disk Permissions with no errors.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?  It sure would be nice to be able to print.
