Feb 24, 2013 12:05 AM in response to aningby modular747,Not sure what you mean by "North American menu." Region settings have nothing to do with connecting to a cellular network.
Settings > General > International > Region Format > set what you want.
If you lost carrier connection after updating, this usually means the phone was previously hacked to unlock. When you updated, the hack was removed and the phone was re-locked to its oringal carrier. It will now work only with a SIM card from that carrier.

Phone was never unlocked. Whilst roaming I connect to Rogers Wireless. Since 6.1.2 no service.

Feb 24, 2013 12:17 AM in response to modular747by aning,UK O2 sim card as its a UK mobile.
It worked fine roaming on the Rogers Wireless network for the past 7 months right up until completing the upgrade.

Feb 24, 2013 12:20 AM in response to aningby modular747,Check with O2 to verify that they still have you provisioned for international roaming. The update may have screwed that up. Otherwise, you need a new O2 SIM card. Updating has been known to fry SIM cards.

Feb 24, 2013 12:25 AM in response to aningby modular747,If you update outside the area of your home carrier, the phone doesn't activate with the roaming carrier and the card may not work properly again. Have seen reports of this.

the issue i have is to do with the continuous software releases riddled with bugs.
these software releases are not for consumer benefit but to maintain apples interests.
it would just be nice if they tested their software before releasing it
