Why does my file fail in the middle of exporting a video from final cut pro to compressor?

Hard to say. Could be either app.

Do the other export options work OK? Does FCP>C fail with all projects?

    to resolve the issue, try:

    1. rendering out the FCP storylines in the entire PROJECT BEFORE you attempt a submission to COmpressor. Check fcpx background processes for RENDERING to be complete for that project. Make sure that alll thr projects elemenst are completely rendered in FCPX first... then step 2.
    2. export / SHARE to a MASTER qt file

MAke sure the above works first to eliminate any errors wi the objects and elements, effects etc that you may have in your FCPX project.

IF that works, for a test only, in, add the master to a batch and SUBMIT that MASTER to compressor to make your distribution.

AS noted in many threads in this forum, FCPX must build a temporary master (intermediate master) to supply itto compressor for non cluster processing. Somethimes this can take ages to do before pops up read. You will see errors in the /var/logs for bad elemenst and resources sometuimes. So try to resolve that the projects source is not the culprit.

if so fix the FCPX elements.. then try again,

post your results for others to see
