Jun 3, 2011 2:21 PM in response to chrisfromhopewellby AshenBrandon,That file isn't there. Wouldn't that delete Firefox? I need it for work...

Jun 3, 2011 2:42 PM in response to AshenBrandonby chrisfromhopewell,The file that I told you to delete will just get rid of the preferences, which could be the reason. I deleted the one that I had for chrome and it really sped up chrome but it erased the bookmarks.
If you don't want to erase the bookmarks you can just export them to safari or chrome. If you really don't want to delete the file you can just uninstall firefox then reinstall it.

Feb 28, 2012 3:46 AM in response to AshenBrandonby mcgregork,★HelpfulJust to help to anyone if it is a still issue.
The only way to sort it out without remove anything from your mac is this way:
1.In Finder right click on the Firefox app and select “Show Package Contents”
2. navigate to Contents and open “Info.plist” in TextEdit.
3. In this file, near the top, there should be a piece of text that says <dict>, underneath this add the following making sure all of the text is present.
<key>LSUIPresentationMode</key>
<integer>0</integer>
4. save that file
5. restart firefox
6. happy browsing again
cheers

But all you need to do is froce quit safari or any application that this is happening to and start the application again.
Hope it works.

This worked for me. Thank you so much for posting. The problem with FF just showed up this morning. Last night, I had to close down my Mac due to a panic freeze. I had been watching You Tube clips of the Oscars on FF when that happened. I wonder if this caused the problem to begin with.
I tried the plist fix posted by mcgregork but it didn't work for me. I deleted that later and then tried your fix, which did work.
