I keep trying to add a .wav file into garageband but every time I do, the sound keeps getting stripped out. I originally recorded an audio file in Garageband, exported it as an mp3, then ran it through Audacity and Levelator to strip out any white noise and saved it as a .wav file. I then tried to put it back into GB, but all the sound was gone! The thing is the .wav file itself seems to be fine. I can load up the file in iTunes and hear everything just fine. What am I doing wrong?

Can you go back and turn the mp3 into an AIFF before you run it through Levelator? AIFF is GB's internal format, maybe that works better (although a .wav file should work and the quality should be the same.)

And if you can go all the way back, leave out the mp3 stage - that's an unnecessary compression and decompression step that degrades your audio quality. Export the audio at full quality from GB (which is an AIFF) and go straight to Levelator.
