MacBook Pro Retina Fan Issues

Unfortunately I already read that the 10.8.3 doesn't solve the issue 😟

Nobody knows, they do not reveal that such things, i think the smc needs an update?

Why it would be an update? My Macbook Pro retina is from the last generation 2.3ghz I7 and is not supposed to be different from the others. But I did buy it 3 days ago before they release the new one.

My first macbook I got was a 2.3 ghz version, I got it 31 January, last friday I exchanged it for the 2.4 ghz version, so it's not really the newest model, but also the 2.3 ghz version...

I agree. Got it also the 2.3ghz on January 30th and I have the problem.

Maybe they changed a hardware componement in the Mac just before releasing the new generation?

Maybe....., but why all the hardare tests passed, the fanspeed has to be temperature based, and my temperatures are ok... So it has to be software based??

Because I think it's not a hardware issue. Maybe the temp sensor is sending some information who are not very well interpreted by the SMC...

I've had better luck of late. Only one time did I experience 6k rpm and I put it to sleep immediately. That was about 2 days ago. Since I've only gotten to 4k rpm. I feel like it wanted to hit 6k but with me talking it down 4k was as far as it got lol. Still I don't want to be embarrassed in class or in public with a $2000 machine sounding like a central air conditioning unit. Please Apple, we are choosing your extra $$$ machines for a reason don't give us a silly reason not to buy. Address it, and lets move on. This isn't a high school relationship we are all adults here.. I think.

Could make sense. They just changed the brand of the SSD. I will check if mine is doing the same thing.

I noticed it also with downloading, but not when doing a Blackmagid SSD test, how can that be?

edit: I also noticed when i was downloading the clean install, the fans kicked 7 times in so it can't be a problem in the OS..

I think it happens randomly.

Yesterday I had 2 fans spikes in 5 minutes and I wasn't doing anything with the computer.

A day before, It was when I watched a movie with Airplay. The fans just skipes up for a minute.
