Q: Spotlight search gives results that do not exists

Hi,

I have encountered a problem with spotlight search.

when searching a word, it shows me that it find messages that contains the word but the messages deso not exist anymore.

whem pressing one of the results it just sending me to the general messages screen, because the specific message not exists.

Only if i disable messages from Settings --> General  --> Spotlight search  -  it will not show me the results.

Is there any cache i can delete?

Where it is stored?

It is very important - i will appreciate your help.

    Sorry, no.

In a cache you don't have access to, thus can't delete.

To remove this data from your phone requires restoring as a new device. Either that, or you live with it. The data will eventually be overwritten as you use your phone.

I've filed this as a bug with Apple.   I suggest you and everyone else do the same.

To me, this is a security risk.   I assume messages are deleted from the phone and in fact they are not, and searchable to anyone who gets their hands on it.   AND to compound the problem even further, these phantom messages are included in the iCloud backup as well, so restoring from a backup will just put them back.
