Within the last 2 weeks, iPhoto 9 has become useless.  I have 8GB of memory and more than 25% of my hard drive free.  Upon opening iPhoto, the CPU usage goes to 145-160% and then settles somewhere around 90% making the computer useless.  It is constantly scanning faces despite the fact that I've been using iphoto 9 for a long time. I have 20,367 photos.

I have rebuilt the iphoto database and deleted all iphoto prefererences.  I have run disk utility and also booted into safe mode and run disk utility there.  Nothing has improved.

Any ideas on resolve this?
