Greetings all,

I am searching to creat an iPhoto library on my iMac for multiple users.  The access will not be simultatneous.  I have attempted the disk image method but the disk image disappears each time I shut the computer off.  I have tried the external hard drive and this had trouble to.  Seeking solutions and thank you.

The best soloution is an external hard drive, formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and set to ignore permissions.

Not much we can say to that if you won’t tell us what the trouble was...

I was not trying to be secretive, rather I was attempting to be concise.  I have loaded my iPhoto library on an external hard drive and followed the apple solution to perform this to the letter except I am not sure how to " ignore permissions" for the drive.  The iPhoto library is seen as I access it, then I log out and try another user and it sees the library.  When I come back to test my user the file is corrupt and needs to be repaired.

As said above the drive needs to be formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and you can set it to ignore ownership and permissions in the Get Info window - select the Drive in the Finder and go File -> get Info...

Also make sure you have a wired connection to the drive, not a wireless one.
