HT1853 How do I eject my ipod if the computer does not recognise it?

My itunes said my ipod was corrupt and would not open it in itunes, after trying to eject it the icon for my ipod disappeared completely but my pod still says "Connected- Eject before disconnecting"

 

What do I do?

iPod nano, Windows 7, It is an ipod classic
