iPhone 4s Battery life suddenly diminished

Radomly yesterday my iphone 4s battery got really bad (had to charge 3 times and it would diminish quickly even when not in use). I've only had it about 9-10 months and was normally charging once a day.  All apps are shut off and I don't recall changing any settings.  Any ideas?

    1.Try rebooting your phone(press the menu button and the power button until you see the apple logo

    2. Try getting a new battery installed.

    are you using a different charger other then the 5watt one supplied?

    10w charger came with the ipad with charge the battery quicker but in turn it will die faster.

     

    other then that make swure any new apps you installed in that past few days could be draining it or the battery jsut needs replaced

     

    i would try the reset as listed above

    Usually this means that there is an app that got "stuck" in a loop sending data or trying to send and failing. If you have iCloud or an Exchange email account this is the most likely suspect. Turn the account off in Settings, reboot the phone as described already, and add it back.

    If you backed up to your computer connect the phone, go to the iTunes page, and click "restore from backup". If you backed up to iCloud go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings and you will be prompted to restore the iCloud backup.

    I'm suddenly experiencing a similar drain - started happening some time in the last couple weeks.  My wife first noticed it on her iPhone4, and then I noticed I was having the same issue on my 4S.  Makes me think it's something environmental, due to the sudden onset and happening on two unique devices.  We're both running iOS 5.1.1.

    This happened to my iPhone 3 more than once and I am about to restore my 4s for the 3rd time. This is a huge pain in the rear and I can't understand why someone can't come up with the solution other than starting over. Microsoft has their "Blue Screen" mystery problems and it seems Apple has the mysterious battery drain issue.

    Restore usually isn't necessary to solve battery drain problems. It's a last resort and is pretty much guaranteed to work, but finding the app that is stuck in a loop is much less drastic. Especially as it's mail 99% of the time. Go into mail settings, turn off any push accounts (Exchange, Yahoo, Hotmail, Google, iCloud), reboot the phone, then turn them back on.

     

    When it isn't mail its some other app that runs in background, like Facebook, news apps, etc. These you can kill in the quick launch bar. (You can't kill mail; it restarts if you try).

    Thank you Lawrence! I tried everything you mentioned so I can't pinpoint which app was causing the problem, but I suspect it was Exchange. I stopped the push, rebooted, then reset the push. I recharged and everything appears to be back to normal again.

    now i have same problem.

     

    iphone 4s, just over one year old (original owner). i have tried everything, even new battery (must refund that).

     

    this just started a week ago and i have changed nothing.

     

    ios 7.0.latest.

     

    HELP!

    they had me reset my phone to new, no restore.

    same problem. no apps, only like new 4s.

    if i turn off cellular data--no siri, no microphone--problem is gone.

     

    i normally have lots of apps (musician) and use siri and microphone... for over one year no problem.

     

    almost same as my warranty expiry!

     

    (btw, I AM apple "genius".)
