First, read this User Tip from Klaus1 for background information.
You should not have anything to worry about, installing on a Mac is not nearly as easily done as on a PC.
Since you checked your accounts and there doesn't seem to be any unauthorized activity you should be fine...you did the right thing in immediately backing out before the software was able to load.

As a matter of course, you should periodically check the activities on all of your on-line accounts (banks, credit cards, etc.). If you find activity that you don't recognize you should immediately contact the entity that the account is with.

rule of thumb
when you get an email from a service you use
saying whatever never ever ever ever ever ever ever use the link in the mail
go to their normal site from a normal browser and do the thing
this will remove any risk if becoming the victim of phishing
