I updated my account information for the iCloud.  It didn't carry over to my iPhone for when I'm buying applications.  My password is the same for both so why can't I purchase apps anymore?

The new email address I'm using for iCloud was not updated for my applications so when I attempted to purchase an application I used my old password and it didn't work.  Why didn't my email change for everything and why doesn't my password work anymore?  How can I change my email and password for my applications so they match??
