I would just do my video editing first. Then export the final audio for mastering in an audio app.

It could be a good idea, but in this way I can't hear the exact audio feeling when I add effects and soundtracks..

You could monitor in mono by summing the audio on an outboard device like a mixer.
If you don't have audio gear you can do it in the System preffs :
But I still wouldn't add any FX in FCP. Do it in Logic or whatever you like. that way you can really massage the audio to it's fullest potential.
And I would NEVER just marry the two channels permanently as a pre-production step.
Having separate audio stems can be very valuable in post.
I always do my audio work in a DAW. But that's just me.
