Just another side note for Wifi connectivity issues.
A staff member of mine aproached me to say they cant get their iphone 5 acting as a hotspot to their Laptop.
It works fine with my Iphone 5 with IOS 6.1. The staff member has the IOS 6.01.
I advised staff member to UPGRADE to IOS 6.1 and now works fine.
Since my Day 1 of these postings, i havent seen anyone complain about their Iphone 5 being a HOTSPOT issue, rather just an isse connection to WAP's.
In summary: Iphone 5 with IOS 6 connected to laptop fine, IOS 6.01 failed, upgraded to IOS 6.1 fixed again.
This just further demonstrates Apple's patch release tech notes, fixes more than it indicated, customers are only getting the "Cliffs Notes' version

This solved my problem: I have a Linksys dual router. Just went to the router set up website and changed the 2.4GHz band to "G-only" (from automatic) and hey presto - iPad now logs in automatically to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz (which I didn't change)

I solved by using "mHotspot" free third party software. "Connectivity" also worked, but was shareware with ads. I tried all of the other suggestions on here to get an adhoc connection to work to no avail.
Windows 7 laptop with ethernet internet connection.
Disclaimer: I have no interest in either software. I am just trying to help with a big problem that Apple seems to be ignoring.

What worked for me: go into the Airport Utility and change the channels for wireless from (Auto) to (anything else). I picked a 2.4 and a 5 GHz channel at random and this solved the iOS 6 connectivity.

Well I avoided upgrading to iOS 6 because of all the bad comments Ihad read initialy. Since iOS 6 was released all my Apps have had iOS 6 compatability upgrades I took the big step. The upgrade installed like a dream, I don't know if it was because I resisted untill iOS 6.1.2 version or the fact that all my other apps were ready. I like the additions and extras and congratulate apple, although I knew they would get it right in the end. It is my wife's iPad and being a complete technophobe, she is not at all happy with the changes and believes I made the changes just to annoy her.. BT hub 3 router standard broadband - download and installation took about an 3/4 hour.. GoodLuck

Still having the same problem. No reply from Apple. Very disappointed. This is the first time in 5 years since have been using iPhone that I have had a bug, and that remains unresolved after so many posts and anguish.
Apple wake up before its too late..

Yes, I'm still having WiFi issues with streaming... I have a youtube app on my phone and I use that to watch videos and movies. I've been having problems since my last update about 5 days ago. This is annoying. When are they going to fix it? I, for a minute, thought my phone was overloaded. I havd no idea that my phone was having issues because of the last update. Now i can barely use it for streaming anything.

My iPad and iPhone 5 were updated to ios 6.1.2 and my WiFi didn't work. I went to Best Buy where I purchased the iPad and the tech pushed both power buttons at the same time. After the system shut down he restarted the iPad. He then went to Safari and connected to their wireless network. It came up.
When I got home the WiFi still didn't work so I went to Safari and entered into Yahoo. The system took me to my Cisco Router and asked for my password. I entered that and now I'm back onto my WiFi network. Did the same thing on my cellphone and it connected also.

I am also having Wifi connection problems since updating to ios6.1.2. I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad, they occasionally connect but not very often. I think Apple must be missing Steve Jobs. But you would think thy were more professional than to leave so many peopl in the quandary. Really irritating!!!!!!!
