Firmware update - Samsung SmartTV won't work anymore

I updated my Airport Express firmware to 7.6.3

Now, my Samsung SmartTV will not connect to the internet without throwing an error saying to check with my network settings (ERROR_UPDATE_003).


It was functioning fine before the firmware update.


iPhones and computers are still able to connect to the WiFi network oddly.


I have unplugged my charter cable box & modem as well as both my airports. I plugged them back in after a long wait. Then I have unplugged both the airports and reset them using a paper clip, which required reinstalling my network in the airport utility on my MacBook Pro.


My TV seems to login to the account I have registered ok but then when I try to look at Samsung Apps or something on the WiFi, I get the ERROR_UPDATE_003 message. When I go to the TV's network settings, it seems to connect to the network ok and does not throw an error on the test.


I was happily watching Amazon Prime and HBO-GO before this firmware update and now I cannot. Very strange.




Any thoughts on how I can fix this or just revert back to the older firmware that worked like a charm?

    Have you confirmed that the Samsung is connected to the network or can see it? Did it have a static IP address or are you using DHCP from the network? Confirm the network settings on the TV and you will probably see the issue. My guess is the network IP range has changed.

    Hi Turner.. don't worry i had the same problem it is nothing to do with your modem or wifi.. Samsung Smart Hub servers are down (not working).. its stupid that the error message does not tell correctly. I googled it and found that the issue is with many others having the samsung TV's. accounding to the post on CNET the issues will be solved in 2-3 days time until then Smart Hub will not work...
