All I can say in this Apple forum is that downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Smetimes this works:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I assume it's a Bose SoundLink
To connect a previously paired device, press the Bluetooth button on the SoundLink speaker. The Bluetooth indicator on the speaker flashes on and off approximately twice every second until the device connects.
Then the indicator stops flashing and remains steadily on when the speaker and device have successfully connected.
Note: Turn off all other Bluetooth device when you are pairing your iPod with the Bose SoundLink.

Thanks for the quick reply but I tried all the different types of resets, Apple had me call Bose and the bose guy told me to take my 'Bose Sound Dock Series 2' to best buy and try another ipod on it and go from there. I feel a touch of the old run around coming on, we'll see. thanks again
