I agree, there losing out on custom because so many people can't purchase anything, you'd think they would sort it out for the money people want to spend.

I don't know whether it's a glitch or bug in itunes (PC) , but it's a fix definitely.

    Follow :

    1) Download a free app from app store. It will ask for password, give it.

    2) That app will start downloading.

    3) Now within a short span of time, download the desired (paid) app, and it wont ask any password or security questions.

    4) Done !

i wanted to change my security questions because it had been over 1 1/2 - 2 years and have forgotten the answers. (The reason i am in this mess is because I had set the "3g" question by mistake last week. when my ipad was working, Setting it on, meant you also had to have a working puk code also).

Because I couldnt remember the puk code, it took two times of wrong submissions b4 my ipad was locked for good.

Getting a new sim card from the ATT store, I was trying to update the ios on my ipad2 by starting to answering those ridiculous security questions on itunes, to log back onto my ipad also.

My itunes userid/pwd works for me, without fail. It was only when I tried to copy the ipad sw back on to my ipad, when it went into a "secondary" login process, through my laptop, b4 it started asking my those securty questions. Here it only ask me three times b4 that locks up on me for an 8 hour period. (This has happened to me, now, two times).

I am now submitting an email to the itunes support desk requesting them to reset my security questions and also, my birthdate be corrected as well, which apparently is wrong too.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO TAKE ALL OF THIS TIME TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS? ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE TO ANSWER SOME ABSURD SECURITY QUESTIONS SET BY A ITUNES PERSONNEL INSTEAD OF BY ME??? it makes a joke out these questions. If you choose the questions yourself, isnt isnt it as secure enough as if they (apple) set the questions instead?

I wondered where those questions came from.  Mine was about my favorite car and I haven't had a car in 30 years.  I live in New York City.  How can you answer a security question to which there is no answer.  This is really dumb. I lost access to my mail for 24 hours due to too many incorrect quesses about non-existent facts.  Is  When I called supported they treated me like I was the idiot.

"I live in New York City...When I called supported they treated me like I was the idiot."

It does not matter if the answers have any correlation to the questions.  For example, if you are asked "what was your favorite car", you can answer with "your wife's name" - "Barbara".  Or, perhaps, your "handedness" - "Right".  Clever, witty, and the ability to deal with ambiguity.

Apple doesn't actually look on these forums, so just go ahead and call them like I said, this is becoming spam to me...

What do you mean "this is becoming spam to me"?  It already is.  People, please read the whole thread before asking the same question that has been asked one million times before. There are a myriad of answers in this tread and one of them will help you.
