Nope, you can customized your mac, upgraded your SSD into 768GB. 768GB SSDs still provided by Samsung. But the 256GB version and 512GB version are sandisk.

This is AN APPLE ISSUE - surely they may blame the customer, but it is a HARDWARE/SOFTWARE INTEGRATION PROBLEM.  please remember that when thinking of alternatives or fixes - they sold you a defective product - not your fault, their responsibility to fix,

Do you know that for a fact or are you just speculating, as far as I know Samsung still provide 512 SSD's as well. Apple uses at least two manufacturers for their SSD's (Samsung and SanDisk), size has nothing to do with which manufacturer you may end up with in your machine.

You lost reputation when you said that the logic board would need replacing to fix the fans problem, which doesn't make any sense. If the problem really is related to the SSD firmware then the SSD firmware is on the SSD m-SATA board which is the only user replaceable component in a rMBP, there is one screw holding the whole SSD assembly in place and its a really easy to swap out. It's so small it looks almost like a memory module for a laptop rather than an SSD unit.

Have you try to report this issue to Apple? By calling Apple Stores or E-mail Tim Cook? I think Apple treat their U.S much more important than Chinese customers, ****, I don't have a Apple Store to go to in my city.

Are you referring to the snapshot?

Yes, please.  If that is something we have to interpret or something that Apple in Cupertino needs to read it would be much speedier to have the snapshot in English.  Not that they can't do Chinese, but it would be helpful for all here...

it has nothing important on it... Just telling you how much money you are gonna cost, which components they are going to replace.

I confirm the problem, but in my late 2012 MBP.  I downloaded the audio file, and my fans kicked in exactly as described.  I've been noticing the fan noise at all sorts of inappropriate times, generally concurrently with low CPU speeds which left me mystified as to the reason...

I also have the fan problem on my rMBP from 2012 (APPLE SSD SD512E Media) which I bought just before the 2013 model came on the market. I did some resets with Apple phone support, which didn't solve the problem. I followed their advice to take it back to the store, after deleting all my data. But the store couldn't reproduce the problem.

So, a couple of days ago, I switched off Spotlight (Preferences - Spotlight - <uncheck all boxes there>) and the machine has been fine ever since. Fingers are crossed it stays that way, but it might well be that it is only a trigger, and the problem comes back by another trigger. So it's more of a workaround than a solution.

Let me know whether this works for you guys as well.

Just spoken a senior advisor at apple care, he will keep me personally in touch about this problem. He also said this problem is not a known problem, I hope this is going to be fixed soon, because it's very annoying...
