Presumably you do set it accept cookies from sites you visit?
But if you have further questions we will need to know what Mac you are using, what version of OS X and what browser.

Is your internet connection reliable?
My internet connection sometimes fails (drops out).
If System Preferences > Network > Assist me... does not restore my connection, I have switch off the power to my modem (router) and my Airport, then wait 10 seconds, and then switch on and wait for a new connection. When I return to to Apple Support Communities, I have to log in again.
Switching off my modem is the same as logging out (I have gone away).
