Q: G5 Superdrive fail, from canned air blast?

Before I start, yes it is a relic but new iMac is on the way.

G5 dual 2.0. It could be coincidence but sometime after blowing out some dust with canned air, my superdrive PIONEER DVD-RW  DVR-109, no longer mounts disks. Can't boot from it, burn to it, nothing.

It tries. Ever second or two I hear it try (kaChunk) but after 6 ot 7 tries it sends the disk back out. Could it be that I relocated a piece of dust?

I've searched for used DVR-109's but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Jeff

PS: the can was held upright so no freon or whatever is in the can got out.

2.0 x 2 G5, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
