I'm having problems synching (the correct spelling, mind you) my iphone's calander (apple's app) to my MacBook Pro's iCal (also apple's app).  I've been on many forums and cannot seem to find why it just stoped synching.  Yes, it has synched via itunes before and suddenly just stopped.  Using apple iphone 4 version 6.1.2

iCal version 5.0.3 (1605.4)

'Automatically retrieve CalDAV invitations from mail' is unchecked in iCal's preffrences > Advanced

I also have no accounts under that tab in preffrences, but that doesn't seem like it matters, since I just want iCal app to iCal app

iTunes version 11.0.2 (26)

my phone can 'sync' over wifi (button presed), but it never seems to fully sync, and still have to plug the phone in the usb

the phone backs up to the computer, which i am assuming is the correct choise.  since i cant figure out icloud for the life of me.

when i go to the info tab, Sync Calendars, has no buttons to press and says" your calendars are being synced with your iphone over the air from icloud.  Over-the-air sync settings can be changed on your iphone."

any help would be greatly appreciated.  excuse my misspellings!

Thank you!

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.2, iCal

From what you say iTunes thinks you are syncing via iCloud over the air.

For that to work would require you to have your iCloud account set up in iCal > Preferences > Accounts to let iCal see the iCloud calendars. You would also need to have the iPhone set up to sync to the iCloud account.

If you want to sync via iTunes I would look on the computer's System Preferences and see if you have iCloud set up there and if so remove it.

    Information for troubleshooting iCloud syncing:

Apple advises against syncing both with iTunes and iCloud because you will end up with duplicate events.

    Best wishes
