Im with you ... my speakers just died today mid speaker phonecall with my bro. Made a couple of clicking sounds and no nada. Thanks Apple for the update that killed my ringer, sound, etc.

Can Apple please give me an upgrade to my upgrade?
No, they will not.
Even if they would, posting to a user to user technical support forum will not make it happen.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
I know many people with iPhones and none of them have had issues. Frankly, it simply is not a widespread issues. There are millions of people with iPhone and less than 1% have issues with upgrades.
If you've tried all the basic troubleshooting, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
