Q: Audio midi setup issue.

I want to create an aggregate device using audio midi setup, as I have seen can be done here for example, and yet I have the problem that my Audio midi set up does not look like this at all. I'm assuming I have an older version (i am using a macbook 3,1) is there a way I can either update my audio midi set up or create an aggregate device in the version I have?

Thanks, Joe

Do you have Soundflower installed? Just glancing at the link the user is asking about how to setup Soundflower to do this.

See soundflower - Soundflower system extension

Yeah, I should have mentioned I have soundflower installed!

This is what my Audio midi set up looks like, if it helps:

Yes that is  a very different look to Audio Midi Setup then what I have. What version of the app are you running?

(Do Audio Midi Setup->About from the menu bar)

If you are really on 10.5.8 as your profile shows you might want to try posting this in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard

One thing I can tell you is in the new version of Audio Midi Setup there is a menu option to create an Aggregate device. You might poke around in the various menus in your version to see if that exists.

    good luck

    regards

I'll post it the inquiry there now... I posted it in here after finding a question with a similar issue.

Running version 2.2.2, and had no luck searching through all the menus.

    Thank's for your continued help!

Sorry I can;t help more with the version of Audio MIDI  Setup you have. Hopefully someone else with an older system will chime in.

In the mean time it you explain what you are trying to do perhaps it could be down with just Soundflower, it has the capability to combine inputs.

    good luck

Hello, I am also having problems with the 10.8.2 Audio/MIDI set up. It shows all my MIDI devices but one-an Akai Breath Controller, when showing the info window for it there is no box for putting it online.

It is in the MIDI window and hovering over the icon shows that the breath controller[ which is plugged into the audio/MIDI interface-an Edirol UA-25 which does show up as online] is conected to the Edirol by cables both ways.

I wrote to Roland and was sent new drivers for 10.6 and up and they work I think, because I an hear the VSTi I am controlling with the Akai, but Logic shows no input while playing the Akai through the EDirol.

The link is broken and a search on this site for How to combine multiple audio interfaces brings up nothing, and this problem of mine is all MIDI.

When I playback a project the MIDI all sounds fine so I think the problem is Apples Audio/MIDI set up not the Edirol interface.
