Mar 9, 2013 12:07 PM in response to Eric Rootby kcalvey,It helps in that it looks like this printer is going to be a pain in the neck. I think it's going back. Love my Mac but it doesn't seem to play well with other products.

Mar 9, 2013 6:40 PM in response to kcalveyby Csound1,All 3 of the brands mentioned work fine, look at your network for the issue causes.
But try using Image Capture before you do.

Mar 9, 2013 7:29 PM in response to kcalveyby ~Bee,via ReadIris software that came with computer.
Softtonic's ReadIris did not come with your Mac. Since 3 different all-in-ones didn't work (I know that Canons work fine with Macs), I would question that app. I would uninstall it to test.

Mar 9, 2013 9:46 PM in response to ~Beeby ShlomiL,Hi kcalvey,
Please clarify your router brand and model.
Apple devices using Bonjour to communicate with local devices, that relies on Multicasting and require your router to support it as well.
Some routers provided with Multicast disabled, some routers does not support Multicast as well, knowing your router details may help guiding you further to better understand what causes the problem.

Apr 30, 2015 1:06 PM in response to cabro4by mikeindc,Anybody have any suggestions? It worked fine until I updated to 10.10.3, now the printer works fine but I always get the error message that an error occurred while communicating with the scanner. It works fine using the embedded web server.

Did you download the software that came with the AinO? Because you don't need it at all to work with a Mac. In my last 3 printers, I left the CD in the box, and it was sheer plug-and-play. My 4-5 year old Canon works great on 10.10.3. (No canon disk installed.)
