Does anyone know if one can copy text from a google document and paste it in a Pages document?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

    Did you try?

    What happened?

I can see no reason why a simple copy and paste should not work.

Install Goodreader for iPad, it only costs a few pounds sterling. Then open your document in Goodreader and copy it (or any part of it) into Pages and work from there. Goodreader is an excellent App and you can do so much with it.

Why do you assume the OP owns an iPad? And why does someone need to buy an app just to do something basic like copy n paste?

I have a similar problem when copying from Google or Mail a large amount of text and pasting it into Pages. The paste operation results in a text box that goes off the first page but there is no second page. I know the text is there because I can copy all of it not just what I see on the first page.  I also can reduce the font size to get it all on the first page, but when enlarging the font size some text disappears to the non-existent second page.  HELP, please.

DGroce - that is due to that you not just get the text but the hidden table structure the text is contained in. When pasting use Paste and Match style in the Edit menu and the table will not be pasted nor will any images.

Thank you very much--I struggled for a long time without coming across "Paste and Match Style."

Just for this reason I still use Pages 08 for copying from the Internet. I want the images and not the table and in Pages 08 I get that without using Paste and match style.

Open Googledocs. Highlight what you wanna copy and paste. Type Command + c. Open a blank word processing document (NOT page layout because your text wont flow to the next page) in Pages. Put cursor where you want to paste. Type command + v.
