Mar 11, 2013 7:17 AM in response to Johnrobcby Urgamanix,I would like to propose that this problem is caused when water (from sweat) gets into headphones that have controls attached.
If you're experiencing this problem please try to switch to headphones that don't have controls attached and let me know if that fixes it - it did for me.

Jul 1, 2013 7:31 AM in response to Lance Chongby whiskeyjack1975,How's it going folks?? I have the same problem. It's starting to really do my head in. I'm tempted to smash my 4S against a wall. I was watching a Youtube Video today, with my earphones in and Voice Control pops up as I tilt the phone and then the last tune on the music app starts. It's really frustrating. There has to be a fix to this. It's gone beyond a joke at this stage... I need help please...

Jul 16, 2013 12:08 AM in response to whiskeyjack1975by M0rris0n86,Hi there, at last others with the same issue!! My problem was with the iPod touch 5, Siri would come on for no reason, then when that was disabled voice control would activate which was worse. I returned it, got a replacement but same problem.
I Sent it to Apple for a fix but they could not find a problem. I have now returned it again. I really like Apple products but this is seriously doing my head in, I'll try once more when I get my refund through, but with headphones without microphone to see if that works.
Let me know if you get any help with this I will try anything at this point!!

Jul 22, 2013 1:58 AM in response to M0rris0n86by whiskeyjack1975,How's it going Stevie?? I got a new pair of Apple earphones the other day and I haven't had any problems since. No skipping or voice control coming on on its own. So far so good. The difference in the sound quality is huge as well. Hope this helps..

I'd like to take this minute and thank Apple for educating me and showing me that your products are truly overrated.
Ive had a 3gs for 2 years. Happy as can be. Then things started to get wonky.
itunes is sluggish and hoards memory.
Then you gave the phones a Glass cover. That would shatter like apple splatter.
Then you came out with phones with even MORE glass. I coulda swore you were meth makers.
F u.
Im glad to never have another product again.

Aug 7, 2013 1:31 AM in response to Lance Chongby Misselvee,Same thing to my Iphone 5! Siri and my music player causing my phone call to drop. I was just in my phone with my dad from other country who I rarely have the time to talk to and out of nowhere music just randomly started playing causing our calls to drop. This have been going on for weeks now before I even update it to 6.1.4. Though I thought updating it would solve the problem but It didnt. I reallyyy want this to be fix or at least give me sime solution!

Aug 28, 2013 6:05 PM in response to Lance Chongby howyhowy,My wife's iPhone 4 just started doing the majic voice control thing while sitting on the table (no headphones).
I think I remember this happening a year or two ago and I think the soltion was to clean either the headphone jack or the charging slot (with a non-conductive object like the corner of a thick piece of paper).
I just did it and will see if that works.
The problem as I remember is dirt in the connector is shorting out the contacts that are in charge of activating the external instance of the home button.

Aug 29, 2013 1:28 AM in response to Lance Chongby Nolligan ,This bug renders my iphone next to useless certainly not recommending any apple product until it's fixed.
Voice control is a feature that you should be able to turn off - leaving it permanently enabled is crazy.

Aug 29, 2013 7:07 PM in response to JMA1938by Nolligan ,Thanks for the youtube link but I cant open youtube as it's blocked here in china - any chance that you could describe how I can disable voice control ? Not just set a screen lock...
-
Aug 29, 2013 7:31 PM in response to Nolliganby JMA1938,Hope I remember correctly.
1. Go to Settings, then General.
2. Turn on Siri. This will turn off voice control.
3. Go to Passcode access (still under general). Set a password, if you haven't already.
4. Still under passcode settings, see "Allow access when locked." Set Siri to "Off."
I have purchased VPN software for a friend in China. The one I got was Astrill, which is $59 a year. He can now get Youtube, NY Times, etc.

Aug 31, 2013 12:56 AM in response to cbenoistby JerseyBeanr,Hi there.
This voice control feature is a nightmare to disable, I have the i phone 4 however after some searching I found this: -
Settings - general- turn pass lock on - turn voice dial to off- reply with message off - require pass code immediately.
When the screen is locked and requires the password the voice control can still be accidentally activated but no voice dialling can be made. The message will be " voice dialling disabled"
I have found that this does work but only if you go back to your locked screen.
So " lock that sucker down" lol.
