Mar 11, 2013 8:52 AM in response to PicMacby macjack,You can only make the borad choices given in Setup Assistant. You can, of course, delete any PPC applications after migration. This won't harm your pristine Mac in any way. If you want clone your existing system from your old Mac to an external drive and do the cleanup there and use that drive for the migration.
Note that migration works best the first time you boot your new Mac before an account is created. If you use Migration after that it will create a new accout on your Mac, and you won't be happy with the result. It won't be at all pristine, it will be a mess.

Migration Assistant tips and tricks

Controlling what is migrated
With Migration Assistant you control the data that is migrated from another Macintosh computer. By clicking the triangle next to a user's name, you can select which User Accounts to migrate and choose which folders to migrate. You can also choose whether to migrate Applications, Network and Computer settings, or Volumes. Migrating only what you need can reduce the time it takes to complete your migration.

Mar 12, 2013 1:26 AM in response to PicMacby R C-R,As macjac said, you only have broad choices for Applications -- it is just a yes or no option. Only the user accounts have disclosure triangles that let you pick & choose which folders to migrate.
