Q: the hole won't let the jack in all the way.  How do you clean it?

My earphones jack will not go in flush.  I can see nothing in the hole blocking it.  How do you clean out the hole?  I've tried a straightened paper clip.

There's nothing to clean out unless you have broken off a plug tip. Just press hard until it clicks all the way in. The jack may just be stiff.

Shine a light into the jack to see what's in there, and use a thin, stiff, but bendable wire (like copper) to clean it out. You can also bend the very tip of your wire, to use as a tiny hook. Blow into the hole between pokes, to get loose dust out.

Pressurized air works really well for dusting inside most electronics. (comes in a spray can)
