Currently on holiday in Australia. This morning using Apple Maps, I got Autonav with what appeared to be Chinese additions to name places. About an hour later it was back to Apple maps. It occurred on both my Ipad and my wife's Mini Ipad. Is this signs of things to come?

Yes, I'm afraid it is only the earliest precursor of the Chinasian takeover of Australia, as written by Cordwainer Smith from the perspective of roughly 15,000 years from the present day. Australia is converted to a single giant city of around 60 billion Chinasian inhabitants, and the former Australians become settlers among the thousands of worlds settled by the Instrumentality of Mankind. By the time of Smith's novel Norstrilia (a planet settled by displaced Australians of the present day), the Australian continent on Earth has become a derelict shell, occupied only by furtive bands of people who must elude killer robots called menschenjagers or die.
You're welcome in advance; glad I was able to help.

After months of editing inactivity by Apple in removing errors from their Australia map, they have finally relocated dozens of coastal towns and cities back to the coast where they should have been from the very beginning.
Your explanation could mean that these 'mistakes' were deliberate and designed to confuse any invaders
