ALL my photos from iPhoto and PhotoBooth went missing, I checked all my folders and couldn't find any of my images. Do you know how I can retrieve my photos? I don't have my images backed up and the ones in iPhoto for the past 7 years are my only copy :[

What system and iPhoto versions are you running?  What do you see when you open the iPhoto Library?  How big is the iPhoto Library as determined by the Finder.?  Did you run any updaters prior to losing these photos?

The system I am running is Mac OS X 10.5.8 and the iPhoto version is 8.1.2. When I open the iPhoto library, I do not see any images, there are no items in the library, events, or  photos. The iPhoto library determined by the Finder is 410.4 MB. I did not run any updates prior to losing these photos.

How many photos should be in the library?  Is 410 MB about the right size?

In any case open the library with the Finder as shown below,

    open.PNG

open the Originals folder and check to see if there are image files in its subfolders.  If so then we can run some fixes to recover them.

If those subfolders are empty you'll need to restore a backup copy from before the problem occurred.

There should have been over 5,000 photos in the iPhoto library.

The subfolders are empty and I do not have a backup copy.

Is there anything else I can do?

You can download  SubrosaSoft FileSalvage and run it in demo mode on your hard drive looking for image files only, .jpg.  If you find enough of them that are recoverable to make it worthwhile purchase the application and give it a go.  There are other apps that do the same thing out there.  Go to MacUpdate.com and do a search for "file recover" or similar phrases.

Just ran across a free application you might want to investigate: PhotoRec - CGSecurity
