When they call you on the phone just say, Yes. Until then don't call them.

I know it's not the answer you wanted to get. Sorry. Many of us would like that opportunity but Apple only solicits you; you can't solicit them.

Yeah, but you cannot blame them after all the are a multi-million dollar business and they probably are tired of people annoying them about testing. Its okay with me, because if they do contact me then I will be more than happy to test their products for them.

I wrote up every problem I found with these discussions over many months. There were and are many problems with these discussions. After six months of this, I received a request to test Apple software. You need a modern machine which I do not have.

Answer lots of questions here and perhaps you will be noticed.

I think the OP wants to be a hardware tester. That was my interpretation.

Actually, it doesn't really make a difference if you answer lots of questions here or not. Apple makes random choices from a list of names. We don't know where the list comes from. And, those chosen simply are used to beta test certain software prior to public release by Apple.

As for your machine it need only be able to run the software that is being tested.

I do know that Apple emailed the request to the id I have associated with these discussions.

Yes, because the forums is what Apple uses for their list and your email address is most likely also your Apple ID, just like mine. But I started before there were Apple IDs. There wasn't even a MobileMe!

A long, long time ago in an Apple Galaxy far, far away they picked names from those helpers who were consistently visible answering questions. But over time they ran out of new potential testers so they started casting a wider net.

But now I notice names I don't even recognize from here. In the past it seemed Apple looked for people with experience and expertise. Now, it seems, they are looking just for variety hoping that the more varied the mix the more likely the bugs most likely to plague a new release will be caught.

At least that's my perception given my observations since Jaguar when I started.

I emailed them and they told me that it is not available to test in my country. I guess it is available only in the US now.
