Q: airport help! cannot connect to wifi

I just restored my powerbook G4 to factory settings. Prior to this, it connected to wifi fine without any issues. Now, when I try, it says "the wireless network does not support the requested encryption" This is getting very frustrating...

I've looked everywhere online to find a reslolution. I cannot update from 10.3.4 because...I can't connect to the internet.

If anyone has any comments, please let me know!

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Panther or 10.3.4 is so out of date and ancient at best.. I would upgrade to Tiger and then set uo your airport settings. Tiger supports WEP which isn't that safe anymore.. If you can and depending on which PowerBook you have I would upgrade to Leopard..

Please post for me your PowerBook specs here.. if it runs 1GHZ or faster, then Leopard would be the best and its very user friendly.
