Real music lovers? So what does that mean? Somehow you like music "better" than everyone else, and that makes you special. That's ridiculous.

Definitely agree with you on the 25K max issue, Mike. After 25 years of collecting CDs I am definitely bumping up against that ceiling.
As far as FLAC goes, I just use Max 0.9.2 to batch convert them to Apple Lossless. Pretty painless, really.

Well after the Maps fiasco who's idea was it to takeaway coverflow and download artwork features?
Creating great hardware and software is taken for granted, what I don't understand is undoing great features by Apple. Please put it right immediately!

90% of the public thinks that the apple earbuds actually reproduce music. Music Lovers can sit down and LISTEN to their favorite music. When was yje last time you put on a (anything) sat down on the couch and did
NOTHING ELSE, other than LISTEN to the Music ?
Most people do 10 things while listening. Its a background activity. Its' like elevator music. Its' their ....but its' not there. I have three daughters from ages 29 -16. They are all smart successful young woman. I have watched them and their friends over many.many years, and it could be MONO and they wouldnt have a clue.
Im not "special", no one is special. Just being honest. Now you be honest .....

What you meant to say then, was that you are an audiophile and not a "real music lover." Perhaps a better phrase would be: "real music reproduction lover," which would be more accurate. Although, I'm not sure what makes your love of it more real than the next person. Maybe the phrase should be recomposed to: "lover of real-sounding reproduced music." After all, it is the sonic accuracy of the played source material that you love, not really the music itself. Music can be loved whether it is live or playing from a transistor radio - and everybody loves music just the same. It has universal appeal.
In response, I did that yesterday (sat listening to music and nothing else for a couple hours). I am happy to admit being a audiophile of sorts. I have two systems, one in the drawing room and another in my study. I use tube integrated amps, both Cayin and I have the Harbeth 7ES3 and the PSB Imagine Mini. All my digital source material comes from itunes through a USB to SPDIF converter, and then on to my DAC. The library is hosted from a Mac Mini 2012. I also have a highly modified Empire 208 Turntable and a VPI Classic for playing my vinyl.
I think women in general have little interest in accurate music reproduction, nor film, video etc. It simply isn't important to them. They don't care if the sound is good, nor the show is playing in HD etc.

*** In Itunes 11 click on the File tab, then Library, then album artwork and it should get all artwork for you! ***
"Should" Kris 04, but it doesn't.
And the recent update has passed yet another opportunity to sort this problem out.
One has to ask why Apple refuses to come out straight and say they ain't going to change it instead of ignoring us. Saying nothing is not an answer ... it is an admission of guilt.

OMG iTunes 11 is such a load of rubbish. I have 15000 songs and I have to now look through and arrange them in Songs view. The fact that there is no artwork in Songs view is verging on insanity. iTunes 11 makes me angry every time I use it!
The only way to view your albums by 'date added' is to use Songs view, but Songs view doesn't show your album art or song art.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggg... This is some seriously bad usability.
iTunes 11 is a lesson in how to NOT design the usability of an app.
I demand that someone at Apple gets fired for this attrocity and we have an update which implements usability that the Apple customers deserve for their money!

When are they bringing it back?
Is there a way of going back to the previous version of itunes (V10 I guess) with my phone and computer?

As a former Apple employee, I can testify to what Mike S. is saying...and then some.*
Since the passing of Steve Jobs, Apple does not give a **** about music lovers, OR about the opinions of their customers in general.
I'm an Applehead, meaning I became enamored with Apple technology several years ago when I received my first Apple product (a first gen iPod Touch) as a gift. I quickly poured thousands of dollar into Apple technology, replacing my Windows computers with Apple products (iMac, MacBook Air, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, etc).
Then I got the chance to go to work at Apple; you'd have thought I'd be ecstatic, right? I was...for about the first three months. Then I started realizing that, with the passing of Steve Jobs, everything was changing at the core of Apple. In a personal interview shortly before he stepped down as CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs noted that the success of "his" ideas was simply that he listened to people; he took note of what people were saying, what people were imagining out loud, what features and functionality people were asking for in other products, and he made that happen. He gave the customers what they were asking for well ahead of anyone else, because he paid attention to what people wanted. That's no longer the case; now, the best that Apple can do is try to take what Steve Jobs foresaw, and make cosmetic changes to it. (When is the last REAL noticeable change/improvement in the iPhone? How about iOS? And the MacBook? Quieter fans, faster processor...How original!)
My whole point is that, yes, I strongly suggest that everyone who is frustrated with the loss of artwork in iTunes 11 (I was forced to upgrade to 11 when I worked at Apple, but refuse to install it on my own systems here at home) to go to http://www.apple.com/feedback and voice your opinion. It will let them know what people are angry about, and in spite of the fact that they no longer care about the individual wants, they DO still care about the almighty dollar. Enough angry voices MIGHT eventually get their attention
Again, I hate to see what is happening at Apple, but sadly, the handwriting is on the wall. It's not that there are no more "genius" minds like Steve Jobs; it's simply that no one at the helm cares to listen to you anymore.
You—and I—deserve better.

They want to make it simpler, just as microsoft has removed its custom install on MS Office for Windows. It all makes me mad.

Yet another voice calling for Apple to put back the image viewer for songs list view!

I also want them to make the random setting playlist specific, and not global, even if I click on the random button in the playlist.

This message is for Apple were just being KIND talking about cover flow, the real PROBLEM is that new Itunes 11 is a disaster on every level. HORRIBLE , RIDICULOUS and what we really want is for somone at APPLE to ADMIT it as they did with APPLE MAPS> Let us know you made a mistake and our going in the wrong direction and plan on fixing it.
APPLE YOUR GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION> PLEASE STOP and BREATHE before you kill the magic.

Add me also to the angry users who want Apple to restore the Album Art Preview window in Songs view in iTunes 11.
