Where does the "Apple I.D." appear?
I've never seen it in relation to an app download, other than to OK the purchase.
Has someone else been using your iPad?
If it isn't yours, why don't you type in your own?

When I click the pages app to open, it immediately asks for my apple Id's password with another apple id. It doesn't allow me to change the id there... I had a friend over earlier and she tried opening it and ever since its her apple Id that pops up and I can't seem to change it..(.friend overseas and can't get hold of her). It is my iPad and everything else in the iPad functions under my apple Id... Puzzled over this. Kindly help!
You could try Settings > General > Reset All Settings
But I'd be very wary of doing that without some advice from Apple as to the consequences.
Do you have an AppleStore nearby or AppleCare so you can call Apple support?
Sounds like she may have signed herself in on your iPad. Try going to settings->Itunes & App stores, then clicking on the user id. Then logout, then log back in with your User Id. That should clear up the issue. If not, let us know.
