- iCloud is unable to interact with Microsoft Outlook 2010 if Outlook was installed as a "Click to Run" installation. iCloud requires a full version of Microsoft Office and Outlook 2010 be installed locally on the hard drive of the computer you use with iCloud in order to use Contacts or Calendars. For more information, see thisMicrosoft Support Article. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982431)
- When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
Make sure your software is updated for iTunes which also includes the iCloud Control Panel
- Start Button > Browse to or search for and run the "Apple Software Update" program.
Check the iCloud Control Panel:
- Start Button > Control Panel (show items in a list view) > Open "iCloud" > Sign in with your Apple ID/Password with the same Apple ID used on your device.
- Put a check mark next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks... (see pic below)
- Click "Apply" in the Control Panel and save changes.
- Close iCloud Control Panel
- Open Outlook on your computer, give time for data to sync over from iCloud and vice versa.
