You can delete all the .xml files if your wish.
iTunes will recreate them.
The .xml files are created ONLY for other apps to access the iTunes library.
The iTunes library file is used when the iTunes library is not in the original location.
The iTunes Music Library file is for the iTunes library in the original location
Thanks - I've now backed up the iTunes library to an external hard drive and also Time Machine.
Before I delete the .xml file, is there any risk attached to this?
My iTunes library became corrupt a few years ago (I lost 3,000 tracks) so I'm very nervous to do anything that might cause a problem again.
