Itunes is not even coming up for me at all.........

I was getting this same issue......
I deleted my iTunes preferences so I could re-login....... I couldn't.
Finally after a few more testings with the network and noticing iTunes worked fine on my MacBook Pro I went radical.
I changed the DNS in my network settings to google's dns server...... that did the trick.....
Not only did iTunes start working, my web access increased in speed.

Allan, can you be a little more specific about how to do this? From within the Network Preferences panel I'd click on Advanced and then the DNS tab? Then what?

Thanks Alan. Tried that, restarted, no luck.
I'm going to pursue upgrading to Mountain Lion in the hopes that maybe that will fix it. Unfortunately for me I'm having trouble with that too as my App Store can't connect, hasn't been able to for a while. Frustrating.
