Safari 5.1.8 is only available via the last security update. The security update's causing the blocked plug-in message. Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.180 installs w/o issues.27" i7 iMac SL, Lion, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), G4 450 MP w/Leopard, 9.2.2

5.1.8 is only currently available as part of the recent
download the latest Flash from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and before installing, check HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and the same folder (if it exists) in your Home/Library/ for anything named Flash... moving them to the trash.
you may also have a Flash Player icon in System Preferences - the Advanced tab has an Updates section, with a 'check now' button, which should show what you have & if it needs updating.
