After hours trying to research why this occurred, the fix for me was to be sure the itunes app is directed to the correct drive or path! It seems that with the updates, it disconnected the path to the itunes library. Try and make sure the path to your library is correct. Once done, my problems were sovled!!
iTunes>preferences> advanced > itunes Media Folder Location > and either reset it or change it to the correct location

Thank you for the suggestion. I've just tried it and unfortunately it's still no better. How am I supposed to out movies I already have on to my iPad without purchasing them from iTunes?! It's a joke.
