Who is the email account provider, and what is the error message provided?

I use surfglobal.net for personal email and liveoffice exchange server for business use- neither work. It keeps trying to receive but just times out.

Times out means it just stops checking for new email without any error message provided?
Have you tried deleting and recreating the accounts on one of the devices?

I did try deleting and recreating the surfglobal account on my phone but it didn't help. It seems to get stuck in a loop when verifying and then I get error message that it has timed out.

Doubtful this is being caused by 6.1.3 on both devices. Any problem accessing the internet with any other app that requires it?
Deleting and recreating the account should resolve any problem unless the provider is having an issue with their incoming mail server.
Have you contacted surfglobal?

I have complete access to the Internet on all other applications on both devices. Surfglobal tech support is closed today- I cannot reach. However, I am not getting emails thru Microsoft exchange server either. Should I try restoring my phone? I'm sure this is related to the update.

Not likely this is caused by the update - not with a time out issue and not with a time out issue on both devices, or everyone that installed the update would be experiencing the same.
Are you accessing these email accounts with an email client on your computer such as with Outlook on a PC or with the Mail.app on a Mac? If so, any problem accessing both accounts with the email client on your computer?

I have outlook on my computer at work. No way to test from home. Guess I will have to see what happens Monday morning. Anyone else having these issues with the iOS update?

No computer at home that you can create/access your personal email account with an email client?

Did you ever get your email issues sorted, I'm still having same issues

I contacted my email provider and my mailbox was corrupted. They had to delete it and set it up again. Not sure that this was related to the iOS update but the timing was sure suspect. It appears to be working now.

A corrupted Inbox mailbox at the incoming mail server or any problem at the incoming mail server for an emall account has nothing whatsoever to do with an iOS update and the same with an OS update on your computer.

Im having a couple of similar problems since upgrading to ios 6.1.3. I have an Ipad 2 Wifi
- Bad Elf GPS adapter no longer works with any Map application (Data via Hotspot)
- One of two Gmail accounts no longer work.
- That Gmail account is linked to a company account/calendar that is mission critical.
On my iPhone 4S I have not upgraded and my gmail and calendar still works on so its not a gmail issue. I have fully deleted and re-added the account on my iPad and I changed the password from a PC on gmail and still no joy.
On the Bad Elf it has an led pilot light that flashes when its assisting a map application. On my wifes wifi iPad (not upgraded to 6.1.3) that pilot flashes when the map applicaiton is open and it tracks as it should during a test drive. On my iPad the pilot flashes once when the application is accessed and then it stops working.
I wish I could revert back to the previous iOS but I know you cant. Im considering selling this and buying a used iPad on ebay that is still lower than iOS 6.1.3. Im a shareholder too but I know itll be weeks before these issues are ironed out. It makes it hard for me to lobby for iPads at work for the rest of the salesforce when this kind of stuff happens. Grrrrrrrr

I did the following;
Settings>General [Then scroll down]>Reset>Reset All Settings
And that, so far, has fixed the Bad Elf GPS issue. So far.
Gmail is still DOA and Im starting to think its a Gmail issue and not an iOS 6.1.3 issue. I tried to add my gmail account to my wifes ipad (iOS 6.0) and I got the exact same error messages that password and credentials dont match. I changed my gmail password from a PC and tried that on the ipad and its still no joy. Whats funny is on that iphone 4s where the gmail still works it will not let me update to the new password and the account still works both calendar and email. **** you google!
